about ruban noir
Ruban Noir is a vanguard brand that mixes art and fashion. The designer put an emphasis on technical details. She uses fabrics never seen before in the lingerie world. Every fabric is fused, and laser cut to give birth to unique pieces. All the materials are Oeko 100 approved. They are environmentally friendly and Ruban Noir women friendly.
In her exploratory research, the designer always keeps her sight on her core values: fashion and design. Stephanie transforms the code of the lingerie to give a new vision.
The Ruban Noir woman
Stéphanie created for the Ruban Nori woman a lingerie that can be worn like a fashion piece, blending in her daytime and evening closet.
Stephanie finds her inspiration in contemporary art museums, graffiti, Helmut Newton, sportswear, and break the rules by using revolutionary materials for the lingerie world.
A self-taught fashion designer, Stephanie has a distinctive touch with an obsession with quality, design and the smallest details. She tells the story of a free, modern life, of a woman who questions the traditional codes of sensuality and smartly incorporates her masculine side.
development & Toughts
Ruban noir breaks the silos and traditional styles of lingerie. High quality fabrics respect OEKO standards and allow the use of the more recent technologies.
The manufacturing process assembles the different materials to modify their structure. It gives more possibilities to propose new shapes which are more modern and technical to fit the ready to wear market.
materials & technologies
The technical materials meet the designer's requirements for creativity and innovation. They come mostly from Italy; they are worked with laser cut, in the ovens, with bubbling and heat-seal.
Ruban noir respects the environment and integrity of the woman.
The fabrics selected by the designer are hypoallergenic and do not contain any potentially toxic substances. The quality of the materials complies with Ecotex standards and give assurance of the client's safety.
Inspired by contemporary art
For her first seasons, Stephanie works around three major contemporary artists: Basquiat, Louise Bourgeois, and César.
From Basquiat, she takes the raw forces and translates it into an eclectic collection.
The work of Louise Bourgeois brings questions on the dark side and shadows of each and everyone of us.
Cesar, and the resins and plastics he uses, brings Stephanie to use advanced technological materials for her collection.
